properties of the CO2 hourglass seat stays
help cushion harsh trail feel and provide

Cannondale’s engineers design each tube
shape to maximize performance. On the
PowerPyramid, the tube wall is thicker
at the head tube junction for impact
resistance, while the oversized, thinner
wall diameter at the BB shell resists
torsional flex.

eliminates the stress risers possible on
machine-welded frames and gives the
frames a finished, handcrafted aesthetic.
We know alloy frame manufacturing better
than anyone else. After all, we’ve been at

Trail SL uses double-butted tubing for an
increase in frame strength and stiffness
with no weight penalty.
The Trail uses the OnePointFive Standard
head tube. The oversized design is part
of our belief in System Integration, which
simultaneously lightens and stiffens the
frame. Stiffer frames steer better.
