Rims: The Echelon SL rim is designed for the rigors of everyday use. The 31mm tall deep-section, single cavity, alloy rim offers excellent lateral and torsional stiffness with additional toughness. The brake sidewalls are CNC-machined for smooth, consistent braking performance. Built for everyday - including race day.
Hubs: The Echelon SL's are built around the TdF2.4 proprietary hub with CNC machined flanges to remove excess weight. The front hub has a wide flange placement which increases the lateral wheel stiffness. The rear hub features our Patented Differential Flange Diameter, which effectively doubles the number of pulling spokes and creates a more durable wheel. Black, CNC machined hub shells with oversized alloy axles and sealed cartridge bearings provide high strength, stiffness and light weight performance. Ceramic bearing upgrade available.
Freehubs: The forged aluminum freehub body has 3 independently driven hardened steel pawls. The system is strong, simple and dependable.
Spoke & Nipple: The Echelon SL wheel set features paired, 14/15 gauge custom butted and bladed spokes with internal alloy nipples to create a quicker accelerating, faster climbing wheel with superior, long-term durability. Self-locking thread technology ensures wheels stay true longer. Our Patented, Jacketed Nipple Design™ reduces spoke bending loads and wind drag, increasing spoke life and contributing to a more durable, stiff and aerodynamic wheel system.
