Mollusk-Shaped Bikes
Hideki Kawata Creates Sea Snail-Inspired Folding Bike

A folding bike is not necessarily a groundbreaking concept, but this take on the collapsible bicycle stands out not only because of its futuristic design, but because of the mollusk-like shape the bike takes on once folded up.

Hideki Kawata may not have been aiming for this design when he started, and maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but all I can see is a sea snail when I see the folded version of this compact street cruiser.

Futuristic Carbon Cycles
The Peugeot Concept Bike is a Chainless Wonder

FUTURISTIC CARBON CYCLES

Taking a break from their auto mindset, this French car maker goes back to its roots with this Peugeot concept bike. Yet that seems to be the only step backwards that they will be taking.

Revealing a futuristic design, the Peugeot concept bike belongs in some sci-fi movie. Made from carbon fibre, it is powered by a chainless drive. Touted as a race bike, its tires are specially made for optimal aerodynamic advantages

Space-Age Bicycles
Nenad Kostadinov's Furious Bike is Out of This World

SPACE-AGE BICYCLES

Get ready to be dazzled by this space age-looking bike. Designer Nenad Kostadinov just added the Furious concept to the list of must-have bikes.

This sleek design, with its futuristic and aerodynamic shape, is packed with technology. Nenad Kostadinov’s Furious bike has a long display where you can see what gear you’re in, your current speed, the time, the outside temperature, and a map.

Nenad Kostadinov’s Furious bike is made to travel quite fast because it uses a special braking system, just like the ones on sports cars. Anyway, I hope this goes in mass production because I really want one.

Chris Boardman's Olympian-Approved Commuter Bike is Also Theft-Proof

PUNCTURE-PROOF BIKES
Bike enthusiasts will love this new design from cyclist Chris Boardman. The British Olympian thinks this ultra-sleek, sexy and high-tech concept is the smart bike of the future.

Touted as a commuter bike, the standout features of Chris Boardman’s bike include a built-in music player and solar backup motor. The puncture-proof tires and gorgeous design make this the ultimate concept for the green commuter.

Chris Boardman claims that the high-tech lock (with fingerprint recognition) will make the bike theft-proof. But one look at this bike and we know someone, somewhere will find a way.

Gravity-Defying Bikes
The Design of the Hoyoung Lee Flying Bike is Not So Down-to-Earth

HOYOUNG LEE FLYING BIKE

I’m quite the cycling advocate myself and I love nothing more than spending a sunny afternoon doing some serious downhill biking to the point when you’re going so fast it feels like you’re hovering above the ground. The Hoyoung Lee Flying Bike was designed specifically around that feeling, because it actually hovers.

If you look closely at the bike you’ll see that there are no spokes in the wheels. The rear part of the frame is attached to the rim with a magnet, so the harder you ride the higher it goes. The Hoyoung Lee Flying Bike may just give me the edge I need to enter the Tour De France.
