casi robo de bici a hermida, que acaba 3º en italia

Hermida has been third in Nals (Italy), in one of the races of the Marlene Sunshine Race.

The leader of the Multivan-Merida has had to manage a difficult situation this morning. Some teams, including José’s, have found that their bikes had been stolen during the night. Hermida had his bike in the hotel room and he was lucky keep it, though it has meant some problems for the whole squad. "What happened today was a big problem. We have all had to help each other in order to save the situation. Gunn Rita has used my bike in order to take part in the women race. She has finished in fourth place, but just 15 minutes before the men’s start. Our team mechanics have checked and cleaned my bike and we have adjusted it to my needs. From there, direct to the starting grid without warming up. What a show", says the man from Puigcerdà.

Still, José has prooved how talented he is and has been able to survive to the first half hour of racing: "I was dead. It felt as if my legs were going to explode and I had doubts whether to quit. I have been able to manage the situation and kept racing". José has been the whole race about 15-20 seconds back from the leading duo formed by Fontana and Álvarez. He has finished the race just a few seconds back, after feeling better and better as laps went by, in a very tough and demanding course. "I'm happy with how I was able to finish today. I could not warm up at all, but still I could stay very close to the leaders, although with no chances to win", comments the Spanish Champion.Next race for José will be the second World Cup, in Houffalize, a place where he has been already able to win.
