Be noted that beginning with the duo was part of Florian Vogel but because of a fall he lost valuable ground. While Fontana and Schurter always kept up the pace, was formed behind a group of 4 athletes with Fluckiger, Hermida, Vogel and Fumic. The situation remains unchanged for several laps until they decided to attack Fluckiger Hermida and gain precious seconds on the leading pair.

During the last lap Schurter attacks and accuses Fontana fatigue. Recovers from behind strong Lukas Fluckiger that can reach and remove the last climb Fontana coming less than 20" by Nino Schurter. Fontana is 3rd while teammate Manuel Fumic is 4th. Closes the top five with Jose Antonio Hermida Burry Stander to 7th place, which must be satisfied that the 2nd place in the Cup final. Julien Absalon, after a bright enough start around 5 th place, falls down in the technical (also due to cover a bit 'too risky ) and after having stopped at the pits to change both wheels retires. Bad day for Jaroslav Kulhavy that in this year he isn't unable to recover the form of better days, ending on 12 th place with Sauser who announced to the press that most likely will be his last race in the Cup the next year to focus on the Marathon. See you in London where there will be a great battle.

Hermida has finished 5th in the last 2012 World Cup and has also achieved that position in the overall standings in the world circuit.

The Multivan-Merida rider felt good yesterday before the last race before the Olympics, but commented that "I am a little tired from the work done in the last weeks and in a circuit at 1,800 meters high you never know how your body can react".

Hermida has been placed among the top 10 in the first lap and has been passing riders until he has got stabilized in 4th position, together with Flückiger. In the last lap, in the most technical area, José explains that "I have crashed. I have not lost much time, but I have been passed by Fumic and Vogel. Still, I could get back in the race and I could manage to pass the Swiiss rider and get a podium spot again".

As assessment of the race, the Olympic rider explains that "I am very happy. I've felt tired but this was normal today. Now I face a compensation week to rest and assimilate everything that I have done. On the last lap I was lacking a bit of freshness, but it is something that will improve towards London".

The Spanish rider gets another podium in the World Cup overall. He has never been out of that top 5 exclusive ranking since 2001, being 2nd on 4 occasions. Hermida will travel to London on August the 6th, where he will compete in his fourth Olympic Games.
