Here’s how far you’ll need to ride to burn off some popular Halloween treats BYMOLLY HURFORD
Halloween candyKnowing how long you have to pedal to work off a treat can help you eat less of it, according to a Johns Hopkins study.
New research from Johns Hopkins University suggests that calorie counts listed next to food may not stop kids from super-sizing their orders—but a count of how many miles they’d need to walk to burn off that extra-large fountain soda might do the trick.

The study, which appeared in the American Journal of Public Health, found that adolescents who saw those mileage signs were more likely to leave the store with a lower calorie beverage, a healthier beverage, or a smaller size beverage.

With that in mind, and in the spirit of Halloween, we decided to look at a few of our favorite fun-sized candy bars to see how long we’d have to pedal* to work off one (or five) of the treats.

Snickers: 72 calories, or a 10-minute ride at 10–12 mph (18-21 km/h)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup: 80 calories, or a 6-minute ride at 16–20 mph (29-36 km/h )
Almond Joy: 91 calories, or an 8-minute ride at 14–16 mph ( 25,2-29 km/h)
Milky Way: 76 calories, or a 4-minute ride at more than 20 mph (36 km/h)
M&M’s: 90 calories, or a 19-minute ride at 10 mph (18 km/h )

While one fun-sized bar might only mean a few minutes of saddle time, it takes a lot of willpower to stop at just one. So if you’re going to be handing out candy on Halloween night, consider it an excuse to add a few extra minutes to your ride on November 1. Tenìa que empezar a entrenar con la flaca, porque despuès de 1 mes sin tocarla estaba muy abandonada.
Mis peores temores se confirmaron cuando vi las cifras de rendimiento en el circuito habitual contrareloj de vuelta a sana pola. El dìa estaba desapacible con viento cambiante y yo salìa de un medio resfriado que me tenìa algo apàtico y desganado.

Por si fuera poco tuve que parar 2 veces , para empezar el registro del cuenta y para recoger la bomba de aire que se me habìa caido en un bache. El resultado final màs de 10 minutos sobre mi tiempo habitual.
