Manu Prakash, an assistant professor of bioengineering at Stanford University, and his team have created a microscope made of paper that's just as easy to fold and use.

Manu Prakash is an assistant professor of bioengineering at Stanford University. His team invented a microscope that is purpose-built to support healthcare and education in developing countries.
Foldscopes are now being distributed to around 130 countries.

The Foldscope is designed for simplicity. The size of a sheet of paper, it folds together like origami.
The device is powerful enough to see the hairs on the proboscis of a mosquito...
