New Bonus Plan Specifically Targets Age-Group Triathletes at both Ironman 70.3 World Championships and Kona World Championships
Irvine, CA (June 1, 2011) – Felt Bicycles is very pleased to announce the creation and launch of Tri-Centive(tm), a multi-sport World Championship bonus plan specifically targeted to all age-group triathletes competing in this year’s Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas, NV (September 11, 2011) and Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI (October 8, 2011)
The Tri-Centive plan provides a cash incentive to every non-professional age-group category for both men and women, for each of the two events. Any age-group winner on a Felt bicycle at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas, NV will be rewarded with a $500.00 USD bonus from Felt. Any age-group winner on a Felt at the Ford Ironman World Championships in Kona, HI will earn $1000.00 USD.
“Tri-Centive is dedicated to the age-group athletes who have worked so hard to qualify and compete in these two super prestigious events.” says Doug Martin, Marketing Director for Felt Bicycles. “It is these age-group athletes who often have the largest personal investment in the sport. We want to reward those athletes who put faith in our products to deliver them to the finish line.”
In addition to Tri-Centive, Felt will be offering tech support to any and all Felt owners at both events. Details on Tri-Centive eligibility including how to redeem potential bonus winnings will be posted on Felt’s website within the coming weeks.

2011 Felt DA Triathlon – TT Bike
Aside from the F1, Felt also upgraded the DA for 2011. Engineered with the help of new computer technology with the goal to come up with a faster and stiffer TT and triathlon bike, the DA for 2011 seems to fit the bill.
The 2011 DA features V-brakes for better aerodynamics, BB30 bottom bracket shell and a frame which has 25% more surface area than the 2010 model. Even with this notable change, the 2011 DA is only 2% heavier.
Felt claims that the new DA is 14% faster and 13% stiffer than its predecessor. It features S-Bend down tube as well as lipped seat tube for maximum performance. It also has a Bayonet 3 headtube and fork at 35mm. Currently, Felt makes use of 3/4″ bearings.
There is an adjustable rise stem integrated into the Bayonet system and a more durable seatpost clamp to address complaints on the 2010 DA clamps that gets broken easily. Spec’d with the electronic Shimano Dura-Ace kit, the seatpost is essentially designed with having the Di2 battery pack in use.
The 2011 DA is more efficient due to its make, design and tested well against not only wind tunnel or head wind conditions but also cross wind conditions or wind coming at you from different angles.
