Vertical Bike Lockers
WAVE by Joe Mattley Ensures Your Two-Wheeler is Safe from Vandals

WAVE BY JOE MATTLEY

A determined thief can cut through the most durable bike locks, so it would be great to see cities adopting WAVE by Joe Mattley as a means to guard the eco assets of the community.

What better way to encourage people to ride a bike than to establish a system in which citizens’ possessions can be kept safe? Not only perfect for preventing bikes from being stolen, the Secure Modular Bicycle Parking protects also against the damage of vandals who are just as eager destroy personal property or nick more vulnerable parts when you two-wheeler is parked in public.

Made of a steel gate that shuts over a locker made of glass fiber composite, WAVE by Joe Mattley can be installed in bays of public squares, and allow cyclists to store their transport away from idle hands, fastened firmly by their own padlock and key.

Project Aura Lights up the Streets With LED Lights
PROJECT AURA

Project Aura is a remarkable bicycle lighting safety system developed by two undergraduate students Ethan Frier and Jonathan Otan. The industrial design students took the fatalities that occur on bicycles as their starting point. From there, the solution to night-time visibility was embedding LED lights in the rims of both wheels on a bicycle.

Project Aura is an excellent solution to night visibility for bike riders because the lights are installed on the bike itself, as opposed to on the bike rider; that makes it easier for motorists to see the bike and to see its movement. Project Aura is a functional and practical solution to visibility, but it also lends a nice aesthetic to the bike. It is a great solution for any bike rider.

Impenetrable Bike Security
The TiGr Titanium Bike Lock Will Give Thieves a Hard Time

TIGR TITANIUM BIKE LOCK

The TiGr Titanium Bike Lock is a concept by avid cyclist John Loughlin. He noticed that old and conventional bike locks are annoying and bulky so he decided to revolutionize the bike lock industry.

The TiGr Titanium Bike Lock may just be the strongest and lightest bike lock ever built. The bike lock looks like a large titanium bow and would take some serious force to actually break, let alone damage. No bike thief will have the resources to steal your bike once it is locked up with the TiGr Titanium Bike Lock.

This innovative bike allows for both wheels to be locked at the same time. When removed, the lock can be easily stored in your backpack or pocket.

Wraparound Cycles
Kevin Scott Designs a Bendy Bike That Thwarts Thieves

KEVIN SCOTT

I worry about my locked-up bike like a mother worries about her out-of-sight child, but thanks to Kevin Scott, a simple solution may ease my mind. Instead of relying on just a lock, why not use the bike itself to thwart thieves? Too bad you can’t apply the same idea to children…

Kevin Scott did just that. His unique bike design features a bendy middle that wraps around pretty much anything, looping in such a way that a lock easily fits through both tire and frame. His concept is so impressive, Kevin Scott won Runner-up in the UK’s Business Design Centre New Designer of the Year Award, according to Core77.
