Vonach, Tommy Vorarlberg, Austria Male 40-44, se retira obligado de xterra por una rotura de clavìcula . Termina el recorrido de bici y se va por asfalto al lavadero de bicis, pero se cayò y se rompiò la clavìcula izquierda , ya està en el hospital.No parece muy grave pero va a estar unos dìas fastidiado. Ha ocurrido a eso de la 1 de la tarde.

En el aparcamiento con pablo y su sobrino que viene de dar la vuelta al trail està cansado, recomiendo que se bañe en el mar para relajar. Nos hace pablo unas fotos y para arriba.
Yo tenìa hoy que llevar la bici al taller de west maui cycles en xterra para revisarla despuès del baño de barro y lavado de agua subsiguiente . Ayer por la noche le engrasè la cadena y hoy la dejè en el stand. luego me pasè por xterra porque habìa comprado 4 tickets para la cena de la pasta y para la cena de entrega de trofeos queriendo comprar sòlo dos . La chica fuè muy amable y me devolviò el dinero extra y yo los tickets.
Me voy a entrenar la carrera a piè, son 5km de subida y otros tantos de bajada con una subida muy dura casi al final.
la primera parte es comùn con la bici, empieza con una subida recta cada vez con màs pendiente, sigue con zonas con algo de humedad ,me pasan 4 ciclistas españoles y el segundo se cae al derraparle la rueda, patina como jabòn.Seguimos subiendo, cerca del lago hay una subida y me pasa un ciclista que pone alfredo en el dorsal de la bici, yo le digo vamos alfredo y se queda sorprendido de que sepa su nombre.Alfredo y su bici llegan a una subida imposible resbaladiza que es difìcil subir hasta a piè, se baja le paso y para arriba.
LLego al lado del lago subida corta con acera imposible decido rodearla y animo a un grupo de ciclistas a que me sigan , una dice si en carrera se puede hacer eso , le digo que no, pero ahora no hace falta que patinen en la cuesta.He tardado 45 minutos desde el aparcamiento, luego me darè cuenta que el mòvil (celular ) se ha quedado sin baterìa.
Rodeo el lago y enseguida empieza un paso en zigzag por bosque que acaba en asfalto giro a izquierda y giro a derecha y aquì se separan la bici de la carrera a pie.
Bajada , bajada y màs bajada, llego a una bajada de asfalto muy pendiente con giro a izquierda en sendero y me trago la señal y me paso de frenada. Retrocedo y empieza la zona que aparece en todos los videos zigzag en bajada y àrbol caìdo para saltarlo. Continuamos en bajada pero demonios giro a derecha y hay una subida, menos mal que bajamos al arroyo con estanque entre eucaliptos y con àrboles que pasamos por abajo y por arriba. Me pasa una asiàtica Se acabò lo bueno subida desde el estanque con escalones tallados en la tierra y cuando acabas una subida en asfalto del 25-30%. arriba de la cuesta empieza un trail que baja a la playa . Bonitas vistas , por fin llegamos a la carretera que va la playa, se baja a un arroyo con piedras y se llega a la playa , 250m màs es casi el final. Llego a la meta en construcciòn y he tardado una hora 20 minutos en total, pero claro no he nadado ni montado en bici. Llevaba un bidòn y lo he liquidado, bebo otro màs y me voy en directo a la ducha de la playa donde segùn estoy me empapo todo.

Me acerco al hotel donde los dorsales para recoger mi bici y Con las mismas pasè al stand de xterra wet suits para comprarme un traje de nataciòn ràpido o speed suit, el`único que dejan tanto en el ironman como en el Xterra. El primer traje me queda pequeño, menos mal que no lo comprè por correo y el segundo entra. Me regalan un cinturòn de dorsales y una etiqueta de plàstico check list que indica lo necesario para llevar en un tri en inglès. Precisamente voy a utilizar la cinta de plàstico que sujeta la etiqueta para colocarla en la cremallera como ayuda para alcanzarla.Le tengo que poner primero a la cremallera una de las tiras que sujetan el dorsal de la bici, luego le añado el cordòn de plàstico. Aùn asì me va a ser difìcil subirla y peor bajarla.

Me voy al coche a probar el traje de nataciòn, como ya preveìa tengo problemas para subirme la cremallera yo sòlo y aùn màs para bajarla , de modo que utilizo la bisagra de la puerta del jeep para engancharle la cinta y que la cremallera suba mientras me agacho. La primera vez se ma abre la cremallera por el medio con lo que me quedo atrapado el el traje, luego consigo abrirla, lo intento otra vez y funciona , me he colocado el traje yo sòlo. Para bajarlo no voy a tener tantos problemas pero me tengo que contorsionar para hacerlo.Entro en el agua y deslizo bien , las olas son de 1m y son asumibles, entro y salgo dos veces , y me sale bastante bien, recibo algùn palo ( literalmente ) en la zona de batida donde hay varios..

Detailed Review
Summary
The Xterra Velocity-M Speedsuit is one of several speedsuit choices out there today. It is legal under the new speedsuit rules, meaning, among other things it is comprised completely of a textile material (no floatation here). The material itself is a stretchy, lightweight nylon composite material. It's very thin but also provides a good bit of compression. This material is also hydrophobic, which is basically a fancy way to say it repels water. This suit also has very few seams which should translate into less drag. The claimed weight of a men's size small is 85g.
Entry/Exit
When our suits showed up we thought they accidentally sent us a kids size by mistake, but seriously, the fit is snug to say the least. Getting the suit on is a little time consuming, similar to a wetsuit, take your time so you don't rip anything. Once you do get the suit on, it's a nice tight "race" fit. Which is helpful for gliding through the water as quickly as possible. The fit feels fast in the water especially since you don't have any pockets or loose clothing dragging behind you. The compressive fit of the suit also seems to help with body position/posture while swimming.
Getting out of the suit is a snap. Xterra gives us a zipper on the back that does not require any sort of lanyard or leash to get the zipper open. All that's necessary is to flip the zipper up and the suit will break-away from there. A feature you will really appreciate when trying to get out of T1 as fast as possible (side note: please no sitting on folding chairs or buckets) it is a race after all. No leash also means nothing to get pulled open during the full contact swimming we all experience at the start of a race. Plus after the suit is wet (you know from the swim) you can just flip the zipper up and it really slides right off with very little effort.
Sizing
We feel the Velocity-M Speedsuit fits true to size. If you are borderline between sizes we recommend sizing down for the tightest race fit possible.
