4th EUROBIKE DEMO DAY - 6th EUROBIKE AWARD - Public day on Saturday, September 4, 2010 - New record achieved - More than 1,000 exhibitors

EUROBIKE: The world revolves around bicycles at Lake Constance
Friedrichshafen - With 1,090 exhibitors on more than 100,000 m2 of exhibition space, EUROBIKE 2010, in its 19th year, continues its growth curve. At the world’s leading trade show for the international bicycle industry, a complete range is on display in a total of 14 halls. 35,000 specialist dealers and 1,500 journalists from all over the world are expected. From Wednesday, September 1 to Saturday, September 4, 2010 (public day), EUROBIKE will be the meeting point for the entire cycling world. On Tuesday, August 31, 2010, specialist dealers and journalists will meet at the EUROBIKE Demo Day in Allgäu: The first acid test for the new products is imminent. "As the most important community platform of the sector, EUROBIKE brings together trade and industry perfectly”, declares trade show boss Klaus Wellmann.

World premieres and innovations at EUROBIKE 2010: At Lake Constance, the exhibitors will be unveiling their innovations for the coming 2011 cycling season. The latest fashions in cycling are also coming to Friedrichshafen. For the first time this year, the Bike Fashion Show will be held in Foyer Ost. This frees up even more exhibition space in the hall for the bike fashion manufacturers. The textile suppliers are moving en masse to hall B5. With the change in halls, the fashion companies remain shoulder to shoulder with the fashion show, which will show daily on the catwalk just what is "en vogue” with bikes and cycling. The following companies will be there: Ciro Sport SL, Craft of Scandinavia, REDVIL, GORE, iXS Sports Division Intercycle AG, LÖFFLER, Parentini SRL, Pearl Izumi, SCOTT, SHIMANO CYCLING WEAR, VAUDE Sport and Franz Ziener.

Main topic: E-bikes
Pedelecs and e-bikes will be a greater focus of attention at EUROBIKE 2010. "We are presenting to manufacturers, specialist dealers and the media the much-talked about topic of LEVs (light electric vehicles) and are creating ideal synergies for manufacturers, trade and consumers”, emphasizes EUROBIKE Project Manager Stefan Reisinger. In specific terms, the plans envisage more exhibition space for e-bikes, pedelecs und LEV accessories as well as an extensive test track in Freigelände Ost, on Messestraße and in the Zeppelinhalle. Then, visitors to the show from the bike industry can really "step on the gas” on their e-bikes to climb the 12% gradient to the Messeparkplatz-Ost. For the first time, visitors to the show from the bike industry have the opportunity on this track to test the class of rapid pedelecs with the corresponding out-run.

Cyprus is new partner country
Cyprus is an interesting destination for sports-minded cycling fans: This island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea is unveiling itself at EUROBIKE 2010 as a partner country with all its advantages for tourists enthusiastic about bike sports. Sea, beaches and mountains - Cyprus offers exciting challenges to racing cyclists, bike tour enthusiasts and mountain bikers alike in a Mediterranean climate. "Our new partner country is a further addition to the attractive range of destinations for Holidays on Bike and Travel Talk at EUROBIKE”, declares show boss Klaus Wellmann.

EUROBIKE Demo Day
Bike industry visitors and journalists can get in the mood for the innovations of the cycle industry a day before the start of the show, on Tuesday, August 31. More than 100 international exhibitors will be taking part at the fourth demo day and making their innovations available to technically minded members of the public for practice tests. More on this at www.eurobike-demoday.de

Travel to the show on a rental bike
On your bike: Once again, 500 rental bikes can be used free of charge by visitors to the show and will be available for EUROBIKE 2010 at key locations (airports, railway stations and hotels) in Friedrichshafen. Visitors and exhibitors can thus cycle easily and comfortably to the show’s premises and back again. The distance from the center of Friedrichshafen and from the railway station, terminals and many hotels to the entrance of the show is less than five kilometers. This is a distance for which the bicycle in particular, as a form of (local) transportation, can come out on top. Other locations for rental bikes are camping sites, outdoor car parks and the railway station at the airport.

EUROBIKE AWARD 2010
Manufacturers, designers and engineers have until July 30, 2010 to enter for the cycle industry’s international design award. The EUROBIKE AWARD, bestowed by the Friedrichshafen show and organized by iF, is now in its sixth year. Bicycles and accessories are products in demand, good quality is very important to consumers in this segment also. A design that has received an award helps a company stand out in a large market and is a good marketing tool for suppliers. The eligible candidates for this special award will be announced at the award ceremony on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, on the fashion show stage in Foyer Ost. All the products which have received an award will be on display at EUROBIKE from September 1 - 4. Online applications and further information are available at www.ifdesign.de (organized by iF).

Cycling holidays are money spinners
People who take cycling holidays and representatives of travel companies are also welcome to attend the EUROBIKE show. For the ninth time, the industry conference Travel Talk will be taking place. Here, on September 3, 2010, cities and regions, bicycle manufacturers and tourists can all find out about new trends in cycling holidays.

Tips for cycling tours
The bike travel market HOLIDAY ON BIKE is open to the public on Saturday, September 4, 2010, aimed at all cycling fans planning a cycling holiday. Suppliers from different countries will show everything that they have to offer cycling tourists.

Outside party
The EUROBIKE party on Friday, September 3, after the show has ended, will be a meeting point for the bike scene. Visitors to the show from the bike industry, representatives from industry, journalists and experts will be celebrating outside from 6.30 p.m.

Shuttle service to the hotel
There is also good news for all EUROBIKE visitors staying in hotels in the area: At EUROBIKE 2010, the number of shuttle services to and from the show’s premises will be double that of the previous year. There will be two bus journeys to the show and back both in the morning and in the evening. The first journey is intended for exhibitors, while visitors can take the second bus that terminates at an entrance at the front of the show. There are also two shuttles to return after the show has closed for the night. General information at www.eurobike-show.de.

New approach roads to the show in operation
There’s also good news concerning traveling to the show: With the new south and north approach roads, which will be in operation by the time EUROBIKE takes place, the show premises are now well connected in both directions to the nationwide travel network.
