'Attack' by police in Manchester is probed

The unnamed person who videoed the scene says in an online commentary: "The Tactical Aid Unit caught the rioters trying to flee."

Last night Greater Manchester Police confirmed the officers would be investigated by the force's own Professional Standards unit.

A spokesman said: "They will investigate the circumstances to see if the officers' actions were proportionate."
