O Symetric
OSYMETRIC trails are nor oval nor elliptical this is a TwinCam.It has been studied so that the radius of the plateau varies in proportion to the force produced by the leg of the TDC to bottom dead center.Indeed: to dead leg is 2 times lower than when the crank is horizontal, which implies a slower angular velocity at top dead center which produced a choking muscles, including triceps because torque resistant too strong for the leg, not a recovery zone as it is commonly admitted.
The aim of the plate geometry has been to facilitate the work where the leg is low (top dead center and bottom dead implying a small radius) and provide jobs where the leg is strong (crank around horizontally which implies a large radius. In summary, where the leg is small radius is low, where the leg is strong radius is high among both the radius increases proportionally to the strength of the leg which can never be the case or with an oval and either with an elliptical (preload curve as symmetrical lines perpendicular to 2).
Specifically OSYMETRIC trails of 54 teeth at top dead center and bottom dead center, its radius is equal to the resistance of a plateau of 50 teeth round.Between the 2 points death grows proportionally to the strength of the leg to reach a radius of 58 teeth around the crank horizontal and declining thereafter again be equal to a plateau of 50 teeth at bottom dead center, the gear is obviously equivalent to a round tray of 54 teeth.Thus a plateau of variable geometry that behaves like a 3rd derail either according to the gradient but the strength of the leg.
Conclusion: the legs move faster the dead who are relatively less "dead": no longer effective.
The newspaper "THE CYCLE" of November 2005 which studied the 5 trays atypical ranked No. 1: the pedal OSYMETRIC for its efficiency, weight and price, pointing to constant power (250 watts) it generates a heart rate more weak economy and thus higher returns.

STUDIES CARRIED OUT:
The biomechanical study showed:
* A better adaptation of the torque resisting torque which involves pedaling round automatically.
* The couple is a more stable pedal which means for the grip + MTB (Motor +) + 10% to the rear wheel.
The study physiological
Performed on 21 riders tested on their bikes in a double blind test V02MAX shows that:
* A Maximal Aerobic Power + 10% high
* Thresholds high + 12%
* Consumption of O2 lower than 10% See ITOP study at: osymetric.com
In other words, when there is a revolution that more muscle fibers working but every fiber work less intensively.
The study shows electro-myographic:
Less muscle activity to dead including the vastus lateralis which means a transition from neutral facility
The field studies show:
With the Festina team Castorama and a gap of 3 seconds per km on the flat and 5 seconds apart kilometer uphill, where the dead are the most penalized.

Finally, a famous engineering school has studied the last 5 cranksets atypical sensible improved the pedal:
it shows that OSYMETRIC is most efficient.
