Lightweight caravan sleeps two adults, is towed by bicycle

Denmark's Mads Johansen has designed a charming bike-towable caravan prototype that could – providing you're fit enough of course – prove handy for some long distance bicycle touring. Though still in the prototype stage, the Wide Path Camper should be up for sale early next year.

Compared to the Bushtrekka, the Wide Path Camper looks relatively roomy, and sleeps up to two adults and a child. It's also relatively light, weighing in at 40 kg (88 lb) unloaded – which compares favorably to the bike-towable Yurt we recently reported on that weighs a thigh-busting 110 kg (242 lb). Still, you'd probably want to take your vacation somewhere nice and flat like Holland with this thing.

The camper sports over 300 liters (79 US gallons) of storage space, plus a couple of seating areas and a fold-up table. The seating folds into a bed when required, and there are a couple of windows with curtains for privacy.

A small outside kitchen area and an additional awning can also be attached, and solar panels can be added to the roof to enable the charging of low-power devices like smartphones. The camper folds into a compact shape when being towed.

The caravans pictured are all early prototypes and thus subject to change, but Johansen expects the finished model to be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2015. Once complete, it should set you back around US$2,500.

acarreado por los lìderes, aser , jose, vicente, etc. Hemos llegado a ir a 43 km/h en llano!!

Hoy me levantè a eso de las 6 de la mañana y contrariamente a lo normal , me tomè un plàtano y un chocolate y me fuì al hostal de blas vestido de paca de corto con la doble V ,donde me esperaban los tenores, cesar claymor, jose y su sobrino, pepe, caballo, bonmatì,etc..

salimos primero ( 5 minutos tarde ) juan ,pepe y yo yen el carril bici me pilla vicente con el pelotòn.
Luego se ponen a tirar jose y césar y luego aser. pasamos por rojales donde el domingo que viene tengo el duatlòn cross de rojales.Fuimos ràpido hasta la ùltima subida para llanear y subir finalmente a salinas. Curiosamente no perdì demasiado tiempo en la subida.
Cuando nos volvimos, pepe saliò el primero y yo el último con lo que los del grupo me esperaron y èse fuè el error por parte de pepe, porque yo iba a màs de 30 km/h y no se pudo reenganchar . Tuvimos que parar un poco para que nos pillara.

Pero llegamos a la última parte en llano y aser se puso a tirar a 45 km/h , yo iba en el grupo y despuès de un rato decidì descolgarme y se formò un grupo de rezagados con jose, cèsar pepe y yo . Al final jose y pepe se fueron por el cementerioy cèsar y yo por el puticlub. Curiosamente fuimos los primeros en llegar porque el pelotòn fuè por el cementerio y esperaron un poco. Por eso mi media es la mejor, porque no esperè pràcticamente nada y fuì chupando rueda la mayor parte del tiempo.
