OGIER Y LATVALA DOMINAN CON AUTORIDAD A FALTA DE UNA JORNADA

Volkswagen sigue dominando con autoridad el Rally de Gales, última prueba del Mundial, tras la disputa de la tercera jornada de competición. El ya campeón del mundo, Sebastian Ogier, es líder del rally con 20 segundos de ventaja sobre su compañero, Jari-Matti Latvala.
Precisamente, el finlandés fue el piloto que ganó más especiales este sábado. Latvala lo hizo en tres de los seis tramos que se disputaron hoy. Andreas Mikkelsen, también con Volkswagen, comenzó el día con fuerza al imponerse en las dos primeras especiales. Pese a no ganar ningún tramo, Ogier mantuvo una línea regular que le permitió aguanta en el liderato del Rally de Gales.
El belga Thierry Neuville (Ford Fiesta) se mantiene en la tercera posición de la general a falta de una etapa. Por su parte, Dani Sordo (Citroën DS3) volvió a escalar posiciones en la clasificación. El piloto cántabro, ganador del penúltimo tramo del día, acabó la jornada en séptima posición a poco más de un minuto de Martin Prokop, que le precede en la general.

World champion Sebastien Ogier crowned a sensational debut season for Volkswagen Motorsport by winning Wales Rally GB this afternoon.
The Frenchman won the 13th and final round of the FIA World Rally Championship in a Polo R. It was his ninth win of the campaign, a record bettered only by outgoing champion Sebastien Loeb.
Team-mate Jari-Matti finished second in another Polo R, the Finn finishing ahead of Thierry Neuville’s Ford Fiesta RS. The final podium place for Neuville secured second in the championship for the Belgian.
Elfyn Evans secured his maiden victory in the WRC 2 support category, the Welshman delighting his home fans by finishing ahead of Jari Ketomaa. Both were in Fiesta R5 cars.
