23min race, hermida out!

Hermida has quit the race in the World Championships in Saalfelden (Austria).
The Spanish rider was motivated for this Worlds. But all his hopes of finishing the season with a good result at the World Championships have disappeared after a crash on the first lap when riding in the front group. "I lost the front wheel due to some roots in the fastest descent in the course. I've crashed badly. I stopped at the technical area to fix the rear derailleur and remove the bar-ends. My wrist really hurts", says the Multivan-Merida rider.
The Spanish mountain biker has joined the race after the crash in 30th spot and has begun to gain positions, but with little motivation: "I have tried to ride as fast as I could and I have passed many riders. but finally I have exploded. It has been a very long and demanding year. Holding the shape I had for the Olympics for 3 extra weeks has been complicated. Mental fatigue is very high and we have decided that it is the end of 2012 in what comes to racing at the highest level".
Hermida has fulfilled his season with a fairly positive assessment. José finished 4th in the Olympic Games and was 5th in the World Cup overall standings.

Jose Antonio Hermida
Me he dado un golpe fortísimo.
