Olukai Maliko es apta para gran variedad de actividades, principalmente acuáticas, y también para correr (en asfalto y en montaña, aunque en este último caso sólo deberían usarla los corredores minimalistas más adaptados ya que la protección que ofrece es bastante reducida). Gracias a la gran cantidad de ranuras de su suela ofrece buen agarre en superficies complicadas como la roca mojada.
